In the Press: Canon + Tate’s Modern Glam Wedding in Fort Worth

GlamorousModern Church

Canon and Tate are the sweetest couple with a truly incredible love story that spans blind dates, debutante balls, and what could very well be the world’s most romantic European proposal. We couldn’t be more excited to share that their modern, glamorous wedding in Fort Worth was recently selected as a “Vows that Wow” feature in Brides of North Texas magazine!

photos: Sarah Kate, Photographer

Before we dig into all of the details of their wedding day, let’s take a moment to swoon together over the way that Tate proposed. While in Italy during the summer of 2016, Tate arranged for a personal driver to chauffeur Canon to the Hotel Villa Cora in Florence. After escorting her through a trail of candles while a harpist played in the background, Tate dropped to one knee and presented Canon with a ring box inscribed with Sono Sicuro—”I’m sure” in Italian. Want more details? You can read the entire story of Tate’s proposal in the online version of BONT’s “Vows that Wow” feature!

Speaking of popping the question, you might remember Canon from a previous blog feature on creative ways to propose to your bridesmaids and maid of honor! These two put so much thought into every aspect of their wedding day and were intentional about honoring their friends, family members, and each other all along the way. From Canon’s decision to have Sono Sicuro engraved on Tate’s wedding band, to the priceless gift of a custom clutch purse made from a variety of heirloom fabrics that Tate gifted to Canon, both bride and groom seized every opportunity to express their love in meaningful, personal ways.

Following a moving ceremony featuring a backdrop of bloom-laden branches at Christ Chapel Bible Church, Canon and Tate celebrated their reception at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. It’s almost impossible to pick a favorite detail, but we’ll do our best—mixed-metal decor, sky-high white floral arrangements, luxury event furniture from Perch Event Decor, a live painter, custom marquee light signage, a donut wall, and a surprise performance to “Dancing Queen” put on by Canon’s mother, her mother’s best friend, and her mother-in-law rank high on our list!

Canon and Tate, we were so honored to plan your wedding and wish you much continued joy as you build your life together as husband and wife!

Anissa + Ramez: Glamorous Multi-Cultural Wedding in Dallas

Glamorous BallroomChurch

Put together one fun-loving couple, two different cultural backgrounds, a bevy of personalized leather jackets, and a dizzying variety of dance floor entertainers, and what do you have? Just a GLIMPSE of the excitement and glamour that surrounded every aspect of Anissa and Ramez’s wedding day!

photos: Paige Greener Photography

It was important to the bride and groom to incorporate traditions from both of their cultures throughout the wedding weekend. With this in mind, following the conclusion of the rehearsal dinner on Friday evening, Anissa changed into a red gown and veil to honor her Albanian heritage before hitting the dance floor. After saying “I do” at Perkins Chapel on Saturday, Anissa and Ramez entered their reception at The Joule as guests participated in a traditional Pakistani dance led by the groom’s family!

Anissa has impeccable taste (did you see those personalized Zara jackets she gifted to her bridesmaids?) and we had so much fun planning an ultra-modern black and white reception with her! Her adventurous decor choices resulted in a look that was both glamorous and fresh. The stunning floral arrangements crafted by Garden Gate, the globe the couple used as a guest sign-in book, and the acrylic seating chart created by DFW Dance Floors were among our favorite design details.

The bride and groom’s first dance to a soulful version of “Firestone” by Kygo was an emotional highlight of the night. It was the perfect song choice for Anissa and Ramez, and beautifully performed by local duo Hunter and Savannah! Last but not least, you’ll notice that the dance floor is consistently packed in all of these photos. Ramez and Anissa both love to dance and wanted to ensure that their guests had an unforgettable evening—a goal they MORE than accomplished by incorporating a variety of great entertainers at the reception! From the electronic violinist to the dancing robot, the dance floor was packed from start to finish.

It was such a privilege to help bring your wedding day to life, Anissa and Ramez! Wishing you two all the best…and plenty more opportunities to dance!

In the Press: Bela + Chase’s Wedding at The Four Seasons Dallas

Glamorous BallroomOutdoor Press

It’s a toss-the-confetti and pop-the-champagne kind of day around the DFW Events office—Bela + Chase’s wedding is featured in the Winter 2018 issue of Inside Weddings!

The couple wed in May of 2017, with both the ceremony and reception taking place at The Four Seasons Resort & Club, Dallas. After exchanging vows beneath a stunning floral archway set up on the lawn, Bela and Chase treated their guests to a special cocktail hour featuring his-and-hers areas—a rosé and champs bar for the bride and a succulent-covered scotch station for the groom. Up next: a breathtaking ballroom reception! Blush draping, mirrored surfaces, crystal accents, and sequin-covered textiles combined to create a luxurious ambiance, which was personalized thanks to the addition of custom neon signage and throw pillows bearing the couple’s duogram.

It was our absolute pleasure to help bring Bela and Chase’s wedding day vision to life, and we are honored by what Bela shared with Inside Weddings: “I had a superstar wedding planner who has been in the industry for 20 years. She called in so many favors, which is something I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish by planning on my own.”

That’s what we’re here for, and exactly the sort of thing that makes our hearts sing. Congratulations, Bela and Chase!

Jessica + Bryan: Eastern Orthodox Christian Ceremony and Enchanted Garden Reception in Oklahoma

Glamorous ChurchCountry Club

We are thrilled to be sharing all of the details from Jessica and Bryan’s wedding in Oklahoma today—it’s hard to believe they will be celebrating their first anniversary in just two short days!

photos: Ace Cuervo Photography

The couple’s beautiful ceremony took place at Saint Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church and was rich with symbolism and tradition. Following the bridal procession a series of meaningful rituals commenced: The Crowning, a centerpiece of the Eastern Orthodox marriage ceremony, The Common Cup, which symbolizes the joys and sorrows shared throughout marriage, and The Ceremonial Walk, which signifies the first steps taken together as husband and wife. We love that Jessica and Bryan chose to include descriptions in their wedding program so that guests could fully grasp the symbolism and significance of each aspect of the ceremony!

Lavish blooms, magenta lighting, touches of gold and greenery, and plenty of texture comprised the glamorous reception decor at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. The couple’s custom logo embellished everything from matchboxes, to spotlights, to koozies, to the dance floor, which lent a personalized touch to the “Enchanted Garden” event atmosphere.

It was a pleasure to work with The Fleuriste and Eventures to achieve such a luxe and layered look—catch even more details in Jessica and Bryan’s Belle the Magazine feature, and don’t miss the incredible short film from Waterloo below!

Cheers to a beautiful beginning, Jessica and Bryan—wishing you two the happiest anniversary this weekend!

Fuchsia-Infused 50th Birthday Party at The Joule

GlamorousModern BirthdayCelebration

We had the best time working with Lisa Spraggins to plan her husband’s classic car themed 50th birthday party, so imagine our excitement when we got the chance to team up again—this time to plan Lisa’s own 50th fête! If you thought 50th birthday parties meant black-on-black decor and “Over the Hill” signs, think again. Lisa wanted her soirée to reflect her favorite things, so incorporating plenty of fuchsia design elements and serving up French-inspired cuisine were absolute musts. The result? A hip, club-like atmosphere that was as vibrant and fun as the birthday girl herself!

photos: Jason Kindig Photography

When it came to choosing a venue, The Joule proved to be the perfect setting for several reasons. “It’s such a great, chic hotel and the rooftop terrace with the private elevator entrance was perfect for the type of party I wanted,” says Lisa. “So many of my friends said that the walk-up had my name written all over it, which I loved!”

Bordered silk drapes washed in bright pink lights marked the party entrance, where guests were greeted by a champagne tower and given the opportunity to sign their names in Lisa’s guest book. In addition to including a book about the “City of Light” on the sign-in table, nods to Lisa’s favorite city, Paris, were incorporated via the menu—pomme frites, chocolate and vanilla bean macarons dusted in gold flakes, and a St. Germain infused signature cocktail dubbed the “French Blonde” were all on offer.

And speaking of drinks…they were served at the coolest custom bars! Glowing white facades were embellished with Lisa’s couture monogram from Paradise Design Co., and the design was also printed on cocktail napkins accented by gold foil. White banquettes overflowing with sequined pillows, a chic runway leading to the dance floor, cocktail tables covered in pink paisley linens, and floral arrangements composed of hydrangeas, roses, and orchid blooms completed the event environment. “Cesar at Bella Flora did an amazing job designing our event décor,” shares Lisa. “He got exactly who I was and understood everything I love about an event space.”

In keeping with the party’s club-like look and feel, DJ Andy Austin kept the dance floor full by spinning hits from behind a sleek white booth. A prop-filled photo booth provided an added dose of entertainment when a break from the dance floor was in order, and a surprise balloon drop proved to be the pièce de résistance that ended the evening in style!

Cheers to not one, but TWO incredible birthday celebrations for the sweetest family! We can’t wait for party number three with the Spraggins!

Stephanie + John Paul: Pretty in Pink Wedding at HPUMC and The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas

Glamorous BallroomChurch

Flowers are being purchased, chocolates are being gifted, and last-minute reservations are being made. Valentine’s Day is in full swing, and we couldn’t think of a more appropriate occasion to share Stephanie and John Paul’s fuchsia-infused wedding day at Highland Park United Methodist Church and The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas!

photos: Sarah Kate, Photographer

“Anyone who knows my mother or me knows that we love color, especially pink. We wanted to transform the Ritz ballroom into our own space and make it bright and colorful since that makes us happy,” Stephanie says. Junior Villanueva and the team at Garden Gate brought Stephanie’s vision to life at both the ceremony and reception through the creation of vibrant floral arrangements in shades of pink ranging from blush to magenta. For the reception, “The two elements that transformed the room the most were the wall of flowers behind the wedding cake and the floral halo and chandelier above the ballroom floor,” says the bride.

In addition to selecting a pink color palette to represent Stephanie’s taste and style, the couple incorporated a fun detail that spoke specifically to JP’s background. “John Paul is from Malibu and grew up surfing, so one of the personal touches for him was his surfboard groom’s cake with his favorite sports teams on top,” says Stephanie of the unique design, which was created by the Ritz’s pastry chef out of graham crackers and chocolate.

Also on the wedding day menu: a salad accented by Texas peaches and whipped burrata, filet with black truffle risotto, sea bass with parmesan gnocchi, and a delicious bride’s cake created by Panini Bakery. “John Paul and I really wanted our guests to feel treated with a sit-down dinner,” Stephanie says. “At every step, the Ritz provided impeccable service and was incredibly accommodating.”

stephanieandjpwed_0533dona-herold-wedding6stephanieandjpwed_0577stephanieandjpwed_0536

As for Stephanie’s most special wedding day memory? “I will never forget the mix of happiness, nerves, and excitement I felt walking down the aisle with my dad, looking up at JP. Then hopping on the bus to the reception after the ceremony, listening to ‘Can’t Hurry Love’, sipping on champagne, and realizing we were married—surrounded by all of our closest friends—ready to go celebrate. That was an incredible feeling!” she says.

It was such a privilege for us to coordinate this “pretty in pink” wedding day for Stephanie and JP. Wishing you two all the happiness in the world…no rose-colored glasses required!

In the Press: Nicole + David’s Luxe Wedding at The Adolphus

Glamorous Ballroom

After showcasing a few sneak peeks on Instagram over the last few months, we are delighted to finally share a closer look at Nicole and David’s luxe fall wedding at The Adolphus, which was recently featured by Inside Weddings! Between the ceremony’s custom chapel design, the reception’s opulent decorative details and rich color palette, and the wide variety of entertainment elements sprinkled throughout the evening, this wedding was a highlight of our 2015 fall wedding season.

While details including handcrafted cocktails from The Grand Bevy, lavish floral from Jackson Durham Events, and performances from tap dancers and mariachi musicians alike made this wedding a standout in our minds, the bride’s kind words following her wedding day take the cake! “I believe we put a truly personalized touch on absolutely everything, and I was able to do so with the help of my team at DFW Events,” says Nicole, who worked with our in-house designer, Melanie Frazier, to create paper products ranging from custom save the dates and rehearsal dinner invitations to gold-embellished menus that perfectly reflected the couple’s style. “We really don’t feel we would have gotten the vision of our perfect weekend with all the detail and elements we wanted without the relentless efforts of our fabulous DFW Events wedding planning team.”

The Garden Gate and Bella Acento perfectly captured Robyn’s vision for a jewel toned soiree saturated by color. “Junior knew how much I loved my Crystal Charity Ball theme, Jewels of the Garden,” says Robyn, who was the 2014 CCB chair, “and used a lot of things from that.” The result? A fantastic fête with equal parts color and class!

Megan + Keith’s Winter Wedding in Horseshoe Bay

Glamorous Holiday

We have the most lovely December “I do” in store for you today! Megan and Keith’s Horseshoe Bay wedding featured spectacular decor—think luxe arrangements of fuchsia and purple blooms, gilded chairs, ruby-hued gowns, crystal chandeliers, and more than a few hints of holiday magic! Above and beyond the beautiful aesthetics, however, is the love these two share and the meaningful details they incorporated throughout their wedding day. Keep scrolling for their sweet story and wedding day images, perfectly captured by Sarah Kate!

photos: Sarah Kate, Photographer

“Uniquely enough, Keith and I grew up together. Our mothers were in each other’s weddings and Keith is my older brother’s age,” shares Megan. Despite their long family history, it wasn’t until four years ago that Keith asked Megan out on a date following a hint from her now sister-in-law…and a little encouragement from above! “My sister-in-law told Keith I was single and he asked me out that following Monday. Our first date was at a Rangers game, and the rest is history. We also like to say that our ‘Team of Angels’ brought us together—my mother, his grandparents, and my grandfathers who have passed away.”

Channing + Michael: Beautiful Wedding at Brook Hollow

Glamorous Country Club

When it comes to Channing and Michael’s love story, clearly there must be something in the water! The pair met on a float trip in Tennessee. While on vacation with Channing’s family, Michael proposed at Grand Wailea Resort right in the middle of a fountain overlooking the ocean. And when it came time to say “I do,” there wasn’t a dry eye left in the house as the bride’s brothers-turned-officiants pronounced the couple husband and wife.

0731__LHE3156

“I wanted something soft and romantic and simple while still being truly elegant,” says Channing of her wedding day vision. From the chandeliers hanging along the aisle to the softly lit backdrop, the couple’s ceremony at Brook Hollow Golf Club reflected Channing’s wish in every way.

While the ceremony décor wowed and the bride stunned in her custom Nardos Imam gown, there were still plenty of stand-out details packed into the couple’s reception, which was also held at Brook Hollow. Continuing on the bride’s theme of elegance, The Garden Gate created cascading floral arrangements that combined cream and coral roses with greenery and hydrangeas. Stunning floral tie-backs were also created for the drapery accenting the reception area, while candelabras and soft lighting by Beyond helped carry the romance of the ceremony to the dance floor and beyond.

Delicious, down-home food items included a mac and cheese bar, carving station, taco bar, and late-night bites consisting of chicken biscuit sandwiches and fries. But our favorite après-ceremony detail? The duet performed by the bride and groom, who are both musicians in Nashville.
