Rich in Tradition: Kimmie Nguyen & Peter Song 5.11.2013

Kimmie Nguyen and Peter Song were married on May 11, 2013 in not just one, but three ceremonies rich with their Korean and Vietnamese cultural traditions that are so important to the couple and their families. Each ceremony brought this delightful couple’s personalities into their big day with spectacular, fun and playful elements. Caroline + Ben Photography captured all the beautiful and breathtaking moments of the wedding celebrations, and we’re thrilled to share some of the images here!

Kimmie and Peter, who dated for six years before becoming engaged, included traditional Korean and Vietnamese tea ceremonies and a full Catholic mass ceremony at Christ the King Catholic Church

Throughout their wedding day, Kimmie wore five stunning gowns including: a Traditional Vietnamese Gown, a Traditional American Bridal Gown, a Traditional Korean Gown, a Reception Dress, and a Getaway Dress, and we have to say she took everyone’s  breath away each time she appeared in each dazzling dress choice.

During the planning process, we were so thrilled and honored to guide them as their families each learned so much about each other’s cultures and all of their new extended family members. This was a beautiful wedding to plan for a very special couple, and we loved the extra-fun details. These included the unique element of wooden Jenga pieces on which guests wrote their good wishes, and the tasty twist on escort cards: strawberry lemonade drinks with the escort card tied to a straw for each couple as they arrived to the cocktail reception.

With a roasted pig for the Vietnamese tea ceremony and day-after brunches hosted by the couple’s families, this wedding encompassed the best of what a family can enjoy together.
