THE BELO MANSION  & THE RITZ-CARLTON, DALLAS

“Spectacular” is difficult to define, but we know it when we feel it—that quality of being at a loss for words and yet unable to stop talking about every last detail of an event. Another definition? Kim and Mark’s wedding, or more accurately, Kim and Mark’s four-day wedding weekend extraordinaire.

The celebration began with a colorful Henna party at Sambuca in Dallas, where the bride wowed guests by changing into three elaborate custom-designed gowns over the course of the evening. Although both Kim and Mark are Jewish—her family is from Israel; he was raised in Russia—an appreciation for bright colors and sumptuous detailing made the event a perfect fit for the couple’s personality. To ensure that their ensemble of international attendees saw as much of Dallas and Fort Worth as possible, Friday outings were arranged to noteworthy locations such as the Fort Worth Stockyards, AT&T Stadium, and NorthPark Center.

Guests were shuttled to the Belo Mansion after sundown on Saturday—a surprise, as guests stayed at The Ritz-Carlton and W Hotel courtesy of the couple. Designed in Israel by Sky Productions and developed locally by Stage Works, the Belo was lavishly transformed by Midsummer Night’s Dream-inspired elements including a winding aisle formed from fragrant rose petals, a ceiling dripping with greenery, and an ornate Chuppah created from intricately woven floral elements, all created by Todd Events.

For the reception, custom walls draped in fabric and crystals were created to cover the Ritz’s existing interior architecture, while three levels of flooring were built to highlight a sunken Plexiglas dance floor filled with glitter. An assortment of luxe custom benches and chairs imported from Istanbul provided the perfect spot for guests to relax as the couple sliced into their dazzling wedding cake. Created by Frosted Art, the statuesque confection was embellished with more than thirty pounds of crystals.

grandest

of affairs

This family had such a zest for life—it was truly an honor to partner with them to create a magical experience for their guests. From the Henna Party on Thursday night, to the rehearsal dinner at the W Hotel, to the over-the-top wedding reception, I couldn’t imagine working with a more fun-loving family. Mary-Frances

Sentimental moments were sprinkled throughout the evening to honor the fact that midnight marked the wedding anniversary of the bride’s parents. From the vintage wedding footage that played in the background while the bride and groom shared their first dance, to the exact replica of Kim’s parents’ original wedding cake brought out by the Ritz-Carlton staff, this couple’s wedding was proof: even the grandest of affairs can remain perfectly personal.
