Meghan + Ryan: Multi-Cultural Wedding at Perkins Chapel and The Ritz-Carlton

BallroomChurch Press

Pop, fizz, clink are the sounds ringing throughout the DFW Events office today! Why, you may ask? Because we’re finally able to share every last detail of Meghan and Ryan’s breathtaking January “I do” with you, and THAT calls for Champagne! (Or more accurately, a Starbucks coffee run…but the idea of clinking crystal glasses on a weekday is much more chic!)

Featured in the latest issue of Inside Weddings, Meghan and Ryan’s celebration contained all of the elements known to take our collective breath away – personal and unique touches (check), sweet moments with family (check), and classic design details begging to be saved to all-the-Pinterest-boards-ever (triple check). What’s more, this couple was an absolute JOY to work with! Their love for each other is so evident, and as a team, we loved nothing more than seeing the constant expression of excitement on each of their faces.

From exchanging vows at Perkins Chapel, to dancing beneath “crystal rain” dripping from the ceiling of The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, to surprising guests with an invitation to an after party at the exclusive “Club Chuang,” these two enjoyed every minute of each wedding-day event!

Fun fact: The decor, food, and entertainment at “Club Chuang” was a multi-cultural mashup that combined the bride’s Mexican heritage and the groom’s Chinese roots!

Click below for a peek at the Inside Weddings article, which features even more details from this duo’s unforgettable day. To read the full story in living color (and trust us, you’re going to want to), be sure to pick up a copy of the magazine – it’s on newsstands now!

If you’ve already picked up the latest (and loveliest) issue of Brides of North Texas, then you may have noticed a brand new section gracing the pages of the magazine: Wedding Walkthrough! We were thrilled to have one of our favorite Fall weddings featured in this exclusive new section, which gives a behind-the-scenes look at how each component of an event comes together to create an unforgettable “I do!”

Coordinated by Hannah, this “Napa Meets Hill Country” themed wedding was a perfect reflection of the bride and groom—Brad grew up in San Francisco and Karen hails from the Texas Hill Country. A color scheme of burgundy, red, cream, and green saturated the lovely grounds of Marie Gabrielle in rich jewel tones for both ceremony and reception. Antlers, wine boxes, and barrels added to the “wine country” atmosphere.

While every aspect of Karen and Brad’s wedding day was gorgeous, we were most taken with the couple’s incorporation of personal details that reflected their family and friends. “My dad made an antler chandelier that we hung over our cake table which was stunning. We also had a very good friend play live music and sing for our first dance,” said Karen.

As for Hannah’s favorite decorative detail? “I loved the massive head table—exposed wood with a collection of rich centerpieces in wine boxes created a ‘wow’ moment in the decor.”

Other eye-catching details included the couple’s escort card display—names were clipped to twine stretched across a wooden frame—and the ceremony backdrop, which consisted of an elegant wooden altar piece accented by stained glass windows and floral elements created by Stems of Dallas.

We’re still dreaming about Karen’s stunning Carolina Herrera gown from Warren Barron, too. The combination of a classic silhouette with a modern illusion neckline was breathtaking!

Many thanks to Brides of North Texas for featuring Karen and Brad’s beautiful wedding day, and for giving us the chance to shine the spotlight on all of the aspects that made their day so unique!

Video: Go Behind-the-Scenes With Our Wedding Planning Team

One of the most frequently asked questions we hear around DFW Events goes like this: “What exactly does a wedding planner do?” If a picture is worth a thousand words, then we’re thinking that video footage must be worth at least ten times that amount! That being said, take a peek at this behind-the-scenes video from Leigh and Alex’s destination wedding weekend in Paso Robles, California. It gives a first-hand look at what it’s like to hit the road with the DFW Events team via our mobile office!

Needless to say, our entire team fell in love with the Armstrong family, Epoch Wines, and the Central Coast of California while coordinating Leigh and Alex’s “Labor Day of Love.” So imagine our excitement when Lindsey, Leigh’s sister, announced her engagement to Ryan AND her desire to say “I do” at the same family-owned venue her sister had selected! (Basically there was a lot of jumping up and down happening in the office.) Just 300 days after Leigh’s wedding, our team packed up the mobile office once again and headed back to California to help bring another extraordinary weekend to life.

Twelve DFW Events team members, 10 months, two sisters, one venue. Countless hours spent poring over the details of each wedding through-line in order to ensure that Leigh and Lindsey’s events remained true to their individual personalities. The story was almost too good to be true—which is why we couldn’t resist sending it off to Inside Weddings magazine with our fingers crossed that they would agree! If you’d like to read more behind-the-scenes information about either of these events, be sure to check out the tear sheets from the magazine’s exclusive special feature linked below.

As today’s journey into the world of wedding planning comes to a close, we’d like to say “Cheers!” to each and every one of the fabulous vendors and team members involved in these unforgettable wedding weekends. It was an absolute joy to work alongside you—thank you for all that you do!
